PRESS RELEASE- Effective today, Monday, July 14, 2014 consumers will pay less for diesel, kerosene, the 100lb LPG and bulk LPG. Consumers will realise savings of $0.28 cents per gallon on diesel, $1.51 per gallon on kerosene, $13.12 per cylinder of 100lb LPG and $0.29 per kilogram on bulk LPG.
The price of diesel went down from $3.40 per litre or $15. 46 per gallon to $3.34 per litre or $15.18 per gallon. This represents a decline of $0.06 per litre and $0.28 per gallon respectively.
Kerosene went from $2.90 per litre or $13.19 per gallon to $2.57 per litre or $11.68 per gallon. This shows a decline of $0.33 per litre or $1.51 per gallon.
The 100 pound cylinder LPG went from $273.70 to $260.58 – a decline in price of $13.12 per cylinder.
Bulk LPG went from $5.86 to $5.57 per kilogram. This represents a decline in price by $0.29.
Although the landed cost of gasoline increased slightly during the review period, the retail price of gasoline will remain unchanged at $3.49 per litre or $15.85 per gallon.
Despite the current economic conditions and increased pressure to reduce expenditure, government will continue to maintain the subsidies of $15.19 per 20lb cylinder of LPG and $16.32 per 22lb cylinder of LPG (cooking gas). Therefore, the prices of the 20lb and 22lb LPG cylinders will remain unchanged at $36.93 and $41.00 respectively.
The next fuel price adjustment is due on October 13, 2014 and will be determined by the landed cost of these products over the review period.
