“The Saint Lucia Labour Party is saying that its concern which started over similarities between the UWP’s utterances on the government’s proposal for deficit reduction and that of the President of the CSA, Ms. Mary Isaac, has now risen to outright suspicion that the CSA president is participating in a plot to undermine the Labour Administration in the hope that it will help Allen Chastanet’s UWP to gain political office. The SLP believes that it is reasonable to ask Mary Isaac to explain her actions to the members of the CSA and the public.”
The SLP now calls on the public to judge for itself this statement written by Mary Isaac yesterday, Sunday, July 6 in a Whatsapp chat csa2014 and beyond:
“Good morning. Remember to watch Chastenet’s (sic) Program on DBS tonight at around 8pm. Licks in Govt tail.”
These comments are unbecoming of a senior civil servant and clearly breaches the rules and traditions of the Public Service.
Despite the customary angry retorts from Mary’s newfound UWP friends, the Labour Party still believes it is reasonable to ask whether Mary Isaac is pursuing her own political agenda or representing the interest of the hundreds of civil servants who continue to be worried about the future of their jobs.
Further, the Labour Party once again calls on Mary Isaac and the executive of the Civil Service Association to engage government in good faith in the interests of the people of Saint Lucia.
