Teen found dead after meeting another male on Facebook – source
DEAD: Anthony Augustin.
DEAD: Anthony Augustin.

A teenager who was found with his throat slashed Tuesday afternoon on the Trouya beach in Gros Islet, went missing after leaving to meet a young male he earlier met on Facebook, according to a source.

Relatives and Facebook friends have identified the deceased as 18-year-old Marvin Anthony Augustin of Grand Riviere, Gros Islet. His body was discovered at around 1:30 p.m. – hours after he went missing.

A source close to Augustin, who preferred to remain anonymous, told St. Lucia News Online (SNO) “what is known so far”.

“I am really hurt by this…. Apparently he went to meet some guy that he met on Facebook yesterday (Monday) afternoon and told his best friend that if he doesn’t hear from him by 12 a.m. call his mom and tell her everything.

“No one had seen him since yesterday (Monday) or knew where he went. He said he was going to the beach, that’s it. Luckily he sent a picture of the guy he was going to meet to his best friend.

“This morning, someone who recognised the guy went to his apartment in Bois d’Orange and asked for the boy.

“He said he had to meet Anthony but Anthony never showed up, but the person who went to look for Anthony saw his phone case in the guy’s apartment and questioned him about what the case was doing there… Then the guy ran off into the bushes.”

The source believed the incident was a “set up”.

Acting Police Press Officer Zachary Hippolyte has confirmed the incident, but said “details are sketchy at this moment”.

Hippolyte said a press release will be given as soon as more information is available.

  1. i find most of your comments hughly distasteful. a young man was obviously murdered and half of you are focused more on his lifestyle then ask why he didnt go somewhere public. the HYPOCRISY of the masses. next thing one of you dies but everyone pays attention to who you messaged or what you were wearing with a small small few who actually care. my condolences to the family

  2. I read all the comments ...wow
The only thing is 1.i believe that jamaican killing ppl from ever since and 2.yea thats whera constantine was found 3. He is a serial killer.Mostly the dead boy was smart he knew that you cant trust no one.ppl lets stop wanting to meet ppl stop wanting to make friends lets live up with each other.Another thing is the oecs thing its true i seriously believe all them murders over the years are not being done by st.lucians alone.Theres a jamaican society a guyanese society an indian and so on,for example so long the killer of the boy they beheaded after giving the stranger a ride has never been caught.Thats because it was not do e by a lucian. We like to tlk among each other so when a crime go down you hearing sipsion.Take this seriously ..ok...R.I.P ..

  3. The wages of sin is death. What was he longing for to leave your home to meet another man at the beach. As a woman I wouldn't even do that in daylight or night. Sorry but he caused his own demise.

  4. Why label the suspect a jamaica? Jamaica is not the only homophobic country.... All u tiny narrow minds of the OECS need to give jamaicans a break....lucians aint no saint.... The young man was killed by his fellow country man...

  5. St lucia have so call laws on paper but never enforced..and sickening thing us every time they catch a criminal..always putting the on remand..for how many years....REMAND??? WHEN WILL ANY CRIMINAL BE SENTENCED..AND THEY WONDER WHY CRIMINALS ENJOY GOING TO JAIL

    (0)(0)

    • My thought exactly! The church killers basically spent 14 years on remand. Does it take so long to get a sentence?

      (0)(0)

  6. You know the governments of st lucia...instead if running their mouth sending words and talking crap to each other..they should be addressing the issue of illegal immigrants coming to st lucia and staying..there is no security in st lucia..foreigners come into the country when they want..how they want..and nothing for that..exhibit A..."LAMBERGE UNIVERSITY" Government put st lucians at risk while they talking crap that cannot help the country..foreigners doing what the want there..but when I come back to my own country..immigration want to give me trouble.

  7. Ok so the have an idea who the suspect is..I would suggest that his picture be plastered on facebook and I dont understand why the media dont like utilizing the technology the have to display the faces of criminals...they could be on a bus sitting next to me..or in the same place for crying out loud..if I dont know who he is...how could I assist the police as a citizenn to bring this person to justice..dont know why this country like to protect the identity of criminals..they are always walking amoung us and we dont know..DISPLAY THESE CRIMINALS ON THE WALL SO THE WORLD CAN SEE.

  8. i am disgusted by some of your anti-gay comments who are you to judge. the poor guy was murdered but the jackasses are more concerned that he was gay. so did that justify a savage animal killing him this way.guess what? those same lucian homophobics go to the usa and have sex with transvestites. rip Anthony only God can judge.

  9. All of y'all should shut up. What does his sexual orientation have to do with y'all ? Half of y'all commenting participating in worst sins. Y'all so damn ignorant instead of judging him for his actions y'all need to come together and pray. How tf can humans be so disgusting ? Stop judging people and leave the child to rest in peace, gosh man.

    (0)(0)

  10. All these anti-homosexual comments have me disgusted and I'm 100% straight. Did the person have sex with another man in front of you for you to be so disgusted? Did the person come into your house and do the deed on your bed in front of your children? Did the person come and try to turn you towards their orientation? You have straight people committing all kinds of things that are against the bible but you choose to focus on one aspect of a young man's life while his family and friends are in mourning? Homophobic people sicken me.

    • It's not good to murder but I guess in your mind it's perfectly ok to stab someone over 50 times because they're doing something you don't like even though they never physically touched you or did anything wrong to you.

      (0)(0)

  11. This been going on for a while. There have a bunch of foreigners prospecting for sex with young St. Lucian males and females for money. Sometimes they hit the jackpot but in this case death came. These foreigners hang out in bars up north and search. One of them came up to me well high and suggested a good time. He was a hotel manager and his wife and kid were in London. I told him that I was not that way inclined. He seemed very friendly and laid back, you would never know he liked guys. To each his own but be careful. Remember the old saying about nothing written on people face.

    (0)(0)

    • Yep. Experienced it myself. A hotel executive as well from a popular hotel in St.Lucia. Coincidentally though, he was from Jamaica. No joke!

      (0)(0)

  12. Just thinking that this murder and that of Linus Constantine could be related. Young men on the beach.... and the same beach. If the police have leads on this murder maybe we could get a break through on Linus'. O

Our citizens should be careful about meeting strangers in secluded places. You are putting yourself at risk for malicious behaviour.

    (0)(0)

  13. Well, sexual orientation is not a choice. Anthony did not wake up one day and say, "Oh my, seeing as how the world treats gays, with the bashings, killings and beatings especially the criticism and insults... I will be gay, not for a while but for the remainder of my life. That's like the best option right now plus I live in St.Lucia where being gay seems worse than anywhere on earth even Jamaica, homophobic men all around are all mostly gay themselves do worse things than me and I will be shun but it's worth it."

Um... no. Nobody chooses to be gay and no one chooses to be straight all we choose is how we will react to certain situations based on our strengths and weaknesses.

Now, no matter what the situation is... so this young man wanted to go against his gut feelings and meet up with whomever in a secluded place, what were his other options besides not going?

We have established already that we are against anything that is not "normal behaviour " yet we condone those who are different and hurt no one but praise the ones who cause harm to others and take away the rights so much so that we push them into exile or suicide and at the hands of potentially dangerous individuals because we take away their rights to be?

He was human but would not be accepted in society because he was different so he gravitated to what accepted him, where he felt loved and like he belonged.

We all are responsible for making gays feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed and unsafe just because we do not understand it?

I feel bad for Anthony and I know that this young man was afraid of being himself, afraid of living life, afraid of being completely comfortable with accepting his own personal conflict, we alienated him and told him that he does not belong.

All the people praising his death just because he was gay? Yet if a thief or murdered is killed even a rapist or child molester they were undeserving?

Think about it, if gays were treated as their peers, Anthony would not be forced to meet the complete stranger at a secluded spot for the fear of being harmed by others just because his rendezvous would have been seen as inappropriate.

Stop being petty and childish and unreasonable. See the bigger picture. Respect people for who they are and their lifestyle because we do not have the authority to say who should be percecuted or belittled for being different.

I hope that all of you remember that you will have children, nieces, nephews, brother's and sisters even parents who might be gay, would you like this for your loved ones?

  14. Could not have said it better onelove. It's time people leave other people's business alone and mind their own

    (0)(0)

  15. I am not so fooled. By now the police probably has all the details. Guy goes to meet complete stranger on an isolated beach and raises a red flag on the encounter. Is either transaction is gay related or criminal. Friend was alerted prior to the transaction. How did the friend come to find out where suspected stranger lives? The police can always varify whether anybody lived there since the friend alleged that suspect was a foreigner, therefore he had to be renting from someone or occupying someone's house. Or is the friend concocting a story since he is saying that it was a foreigner yet he had a house? maybe the friend is trying to hide some details since it maybe an illegal transaction. I don't know am not trying to be IMPACS.

Folks, by the way bulling is ILLEGAL. So you cannot quarrel about doing that which is illegal, same as smoking ganja.

    • A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people for psychological gratification, with the murders totaling more than a month's time and including a significant break (a "cooling off period") between each of them

      (0)(0)

  16. This should come as an eye opener to everyone. Gay or not. Always inform someone in full detail about your wear about. If you meeting someone for the first time ""go public"" don't do private unless u feel safe with the person after a couple of dates. This young guy did the right thing. It makes the police work so much easier and justice can be served quickly. Its just so unfortunate he's life was taken. To his best friend: you are a very brave person for coming out with the information. Stay strong. My condolences to this family and friends

    (0)(0)

  17. Stop pecculating the young man could have learned something about this guy hence the reason he get killed. They have his picture, circulate it so we know who this killer is . He must be caught and be punish.

  18. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE PAIN AND SENSE OF LOSS BEING EXPERIENCED BY HIS PARENTS----YOU ALL LOVED HIM AND HE DID NOT DESERVE THIS CRUEL DEATH. THE WORLD WOULD BE BORING IF EVERYONE EXPRESSED IDENTICAL VIEWS. YOU DID NOT FAIL HIM--BLESSINGS

    (0)(0)

  19. EVERYBODY HAVE THE RIGHT TO LIVE THE LIFE THEY CHOOSE AND LIKEWISE NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO KILL ANOTHER PERSON OF OPPOSING VIEWS----I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE PSYCHOLOGICAL PAIN THIS YOUNG MAN EXPERIENCED IN LIFE AND DEATH. TO HIS MOM I WISH TO SAY YOU LOVED YOUR SON AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO APOLOGIZED FOR OR FEAR. BLESSINGS

  20. Noone knows why he was killed. So stop judging. The story will come out. Soon and very soon.. Only God can judge him. Stop please..

    (0)(0)

  21. From what I gather it seems he was feeling uneasy about meeting this person. To go to that extent of giving all the information about who he was going to meet he wasn't comfortable with it. So my question is why go.Hope this serve as a lesson to ALL YOUNG PEOPLE on social media. It doesn't matter what's anyone sexual preference this is sad and cruel. RIP

  22. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE WOULD GO SENSING THE DANGER...THIS IS WHAT'S SO TROUBLING. WHY NOT TURN BACK. WE ALL NEED TO LEARN FROM THIS .YOUR 1ST INSTINCT IS ALWAYS THE RIGHT ONE.

  23. I love St. Lucia with all my heart the best place in the world to visit. I've been many many times, Hope this doesn't detour other tourist from going there, that's the first thing we look at as tourist is the violence. Many of us are gay and though we are not trying to spread gayness we want to feel safe. When I'm there I abide by the rules "no homo". I'm not going to lie I got my second thoughts of coming back, and I know America is not any better but dang can I escape the violence? Peace, love and blessings to his family and friends.

  25. there will be a number of parents demanding that their children deactivate their facebook account.

When your parents ask you to, don't fight them. They just don't want something like this to happen to you. You may say "That'll never happen to me" Well that's one statement that should never be uttered because when you do, some how life says "okay, let's see about that".

this really happened in Saint Lucia... *disbelief*

    (0)(0)

  26. In Saint Lucia?! in disbelief.. Wow!! Who would have thought that would happen? But then if he thought that something was off "told his best friend that if he doesn’t hear from him by 12 a.m. call his mom and tell her everything" why go through with it?

    (0)(0)

  27. I can't even articulate how angry and sick I feel reading this....We live in a sick society that manifests itself in ways we cannot even imagine. His sexual preferences gave no one the right to take his life,I hope the Police catch whoever is responsible and the Judicial system make an example of him, life without parole.

  30. I TOLD YOU ALL A LONG TIME AGO THIS OECS FREE MOVEMENT OF PERSONS WILL BRING MORE CRIME TO OUR SHORES.

Some of these murders are the result of this movement.

Sadly that's the price we pay, cause our country is not ready for this.

MANY MORE WILL HAVE TO DIE !!

    (0)(0)

  31. Ppl beware: Call me savage but I don't give ride to strangers and if it's late even if I know you I ain't stopping either, can't be too careful especially these days farless meeting stranger on a secluded beach. Think before meeting someone especially for the first time.
    My sympathy to the family

  32. Gays are no threat to socialist. People has the right to choose their sexual orientation. Gangs are a serous threat to society. Why they are not being harassed and killed for being in a gang.

  33. When will we realize that technology is slowly killing us as a people as a nation. Yes, it has its advantages but we've become blinded of our senses. Take a look around you, everywhere we walk or sit to chat, everyone is busy with their nose stuck in their phone. We are a distrated community. RIP young fellow.

  34. Really Friend......do of those comments are uncalled for. I pray for the family in this time of grief. may his soul R.I.P. whomever is responsible for this God is going to deal with you.

  35. So sad, my condolence to his entire family. St.Lucians we need t o be more vigilant about meeting with strangers on line. This young man did all the right things sending the person's photo to his best friend was a very smart thing to do, I urge my people to be more careful because there are some wicked people out there, who knows if that person haven't kill before. May the young lad rest in peace. I Pray That The perpetrator get caught very soon because he belongs behind bars as quickly as possible. Oh lord help the family.

  36. I went to Saint Lucia last February and didnt have any particular homophobic incident but I must say the island isn't gay friendly... I will not come back despite being a beautiful peaceful island

    (0)(0)

    • Everyone has a right to choose. You choose, we choose. If you know an area dont like gays, dont come. Go somewhere that friendly to gays.

      (0)(0)

    • well then make your own gay island and stay there brother aa who cares if you dont ever come back i dont think that will change the price of vat nor the price of gas and the cost of daily living in st lucia to be any better

  37. I never knew we had so many ignorant ppl in St Lucia. ..I was proud to be called a st Lucian but now I don't even want folks to know that I am..I'm so disgusted by some of the comments that I've just read...Are u freaking kidding me....why are u guys blaming the police n why are u guys assuming that this guy was gay...that's you'll problem. .you'll luv to assume...what happens when u assume..u make am Ass out of u and Me....I feel bad for this poor boy n his family. .I'm feel hope they're not reading this. ..Rip young man.

    • becuz which straight guy u know that who leave to meet a guy he just met on fb by the beach " thats the million dollar question"

      (0)(0)

    • I completely agree with every word you just said. It's amazing how ignorant we look just based on our comments. Already deciding the guy's sexual orientation for him! That's no one's business. Why don't we all just stop assuming and wait for the proper information.

  38. Oh gosh jus monday aftjernoo. I saw u and jay...its sad 2 know ur gone....such a lively person..

  39. many a times we are to quick to speculate. some of us are illetrate and just talk a whole bunch of crap. the police press officer said nothing wrong, off course details were sketchy. was he suppose to go and make speculations and broadcast.if you people dont know how investigations are done keep urll a hole shut and stop the hypocracy.

    (0)(0)

  40. Say what you want but no straight man goes to meet another man on a beach, especially a complete stranger. That's a gay move. But that does not give you the right to take his life. You a straight man y are u soliciting young men or allowing young men to solicit you online? Who appointed you executioner? You will have no rest. The hurt you put on that young man and his family will hunt you for the rest of ur life. You have no right to take a life.

    (0)(0)

    • Again with the foolish comments.
Maybe the man was going to buy drugs. Maybe the guy had a used product he was going to buy. Maybe they belong to an international club. Stop saying the guy was gay. And my comments are coming from a guy who dont like gays.

      (0)(0)

  41. I READ THE STORY AND READ THE COMMENTS.
FIRSTLY, HIS SEXUAL ORIENTATION IS NOT IMPORTANT TO ME,BUT READING THE STORY MAY DIRECT THE HUMAN MIND TO ASSUME THAT THIS YOUNG MAN MAY HAVE GAY. ONE CAN THINK IT WAS A BUSINESS TRANSACTION BECAUSE SOMEONE MENTION THE INVESTMENT GROUP ON FACEBOOK. THIS COULD BE TRUE IF AND ONLY IF THE MEETING WAS NOT PRIVATELY ESPECIALLY THE BEACH!
NEXT, THE STORY WE HAVE MAY NOT EVEN BE WHAT IS REALLY UP. THE SO CALLED BEST FRIEND IS THE ONE GIVING THE STORY. HE SAID THE GIT TOLD HIM IF HE DON'T RETURN BY A CERTAIN TIME, INFORM HIS MOM. SO, THE BOY MOM KNEW HE WAS GAY? THE FRIEND KNEW? OR IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED WHICH HE SENSED, HE WAS WILLING TO MAKE HIS ASEXUAL ORIENTATION KNOWN AT THE TIME AND THE FRIEND WOULD RISK OTHERS THINKING HE WAS GAY TOO BECAUSE HE WAS HIS"BEST FRIEND"?
THIS STORY IS SO SKETCHY THAT THE TRUTH IS FAR FETCHED!
THIS FRIEND WHO WENT TO THE GUY'S HOUSE TO DO HIS OWN INVESTIGATION OR LOOK FOR HIS FRIEND, WHY WOULD HE IF HIS FRIEND HAD ALREADY RAISE A RED FLAG ABOUT THAT GUY?WHY WOULD THE FROWNS GO ALONE? THIS FRIEND SAID HE SAW THE FRIEND'S PHONE CASE RIGHT:HE WENT TO THIS STRANGERS HOUSE TO JUST ASK ABOUT HIS FRIEND BUT MANAGED TO SEE THE CASE INSIDE HIS HOUSE. HE WAS INVITED IN AFTER HE ASKED THE QUESTION? THEN HE SAID THE GUY RAN? WHAT IF HE WANTS TO FRAME SOMEONE HE HATES FOR SOMETHING HE MAY HAVE DONE?
I WASN'T THERE AND I'M NOT GOD BUT EVERYONE NEEDS TO STUDY THIS CASE PROPERLY BEFORE CASTING JUDGMENT BECAUSE THIS SMELL BAD! YES WE'RE ALL ENTITLED TO ASSUME BUT THE COPS REALLY NEED THE FORENSIC HELP TO SOLVE THIS CRIME.
PPL ARE VERY WICKED AND DEVIOUS AND WILL COME ACROSS AS THE BEST POL BUT IN THEIR MINDS, THEY HAVE ALTERNATIVE MOTIVES TO DO EVIL. THAT BOY MAYBE THOUGHT HE WAS NEVER GONNA BE KILLED. EVEN IF IT WAS ONLINE DATING/MEETING, THE PERSON COULD HAVE PRETENDED TO BE GAY JUST TO GET THIS GUY aline TO IRRADIATED HIM.
PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! DON'T GET FOOLED PPL

    (0)(0)

  42. Say what you want but no straight man goes to meet another man at no beach especially a complete stranger. That's a gay move. But I won't blame the young man, I blame his murderer. You know u not gay, why would you entice him or allow him to entice you online? That's just wrong. Who made you executioner? You entice his young, impressionable mind with the intention to execute him.

Young man was stupid but was also smart that he let his friend know where he is going and who he will be meeting, even sending a pic.
To that criminal I say. You can run but you cannot hide. His blood u poured. His life you took will haunt you. Your life will be miserable. Your spirit will never be restful. Death will follow you until you pay life back. Anyone out there who is reading this and thinks he or she can take life and not pay life back is a fool.

  43. Hope they catch his killer soon... i wonder what went wrong with their visit? "HOPE IT'S NOT HATE CRIME"... My condolences to his family. Such a good looking young boy.

  49. People both in st.lucia and abroad please talk to your kids to be careful we are living in a very cruel society. This may have been just an innocent meeting, people are speculating about his sexual orientiation. No one have the right to take anther person life.It seems to me that this cruel act was over a phone.I hope the judicial system do their job. 50. Too many people wigh useless opinions commenting. The boy is dead if gay or not aint your business

    (0)(0)

  51. This is so sad y would someone do a thin like that even if he was gay. I hope they find the person. What is st Lucia coming to. The world is coming to a end

    (0)(0)

  52. I tried to make them understand that life is not ours to take. If someone is gay respect that, its his choice. You choose to fornicate in a different fashion that's your choice.lets all sin in our own way and respect each other. Cause God will destroy all unrepentant sinners. Not just the gays. We need to respect the rasta cause that's his choice. Respect the man or woman commuting adultery that's their choice. Respect the fornicators that's their choice. We don't need too accept each others lifestyle but we have to respect it. And when can do that this world will be a much better place.

    (0)(0)

    • Quite agree with you "aa" I always say once the person's lifestyle is not hurting anyone then let them live. You don't have to join them you don't even need to be their friend, but don't bully or hurt them!

      (0)(0)

  53. Oh my!!I can tell he might be gay just by his cute picture. This is total disrespect for human life. This culprit is a barbaric "son of a bitch". If you do not like gays then just keep away from them. Why are you trying to play God(who might see the face of a homosexual before a murderer)? However, one should be careful of whom he or she trust.#careless move son. RIP

    (0)(0)

  54. This is sad. My condolences to his family. It appears to me,that the person whom he went to meet is not gay but a hater of gay people's lifestyle. To the haters of this lifestyle, sin is not measured. Sin is sin in the eyes of the almighty. He who is without sin cast the first stone.

    (0)(0)

  55. It is so sad to hear about this incident one more time in our country. My condolences to the family. He should not have gone and the best friend should not have waited until now to alert the police and family. The best friend should have alerted the police as soon as he was told that.

    (0)(0)

  56. Lots of homophobic guys around. They hate gays. They in a fb group "what makes you mad" they even asking for the murder of all gays, I hope the police read my post. I was in that group pretending to be gay, I was deleted but was verbally attacked for my opinion on gay matters.

    (0)(0)

  57. An innocent child is dead. This should be the focus, not his sexual orientation because sometimes people are so wrong in judging other people. It's just so sad that people in St Lucia are now patterning their lives base on what they see on american tv. What would make you slash a fragile individual's throat. It's just so sad watching so many young people just die over stupid stuff. St Lucians pray like you never did before. Parents be more vigilant and take time out to pray with your kids and show them that violence is not the answer to anything. Television and the lifestyles in the larger countries are killing our youths today. They are patterning their lifestyles base on what they watch on TV. Parents do not let television raise your kids. Teach them to be stronger so they are not easily influenced.

    (0)(0)

  58. It's sad that something like this occurs and the first thing on people's minds is his sexuality. Before we consider someone's sexuality let's first remember that they are HUMAN! It's rather unfortunate that this is how his life came to an end but he also did everything in his power to ensure that if anything were to happen to him, atleast someone would know who he was with. Maybe he should not have gone if he felt he wasn't safe but now that what is done is done, nothing can change the fact that he did. I'm an adult and any vehicle I get on and anything seems fishy I send the plate number and drivers description to at least 4 people. We live in a nasty world and we have to take precautions especially when things don't seem right!Let's all take this as a lesson and I hope that the assailant gets what he deserves!

    (0)(0)

  59. you people need to be a little more discreet about certain comments because persons are reading those comments all over the world. Lucians C'mon n dont b ull worse enemies.

    (0)(0)

  60. Some of these comments are so disgusting. His sexual orientation does not matter. It sounds like he was set up though. The JA probably wasn't gay and slash the young man throat because he was gay. At what point will humans stop taking each other's lives? This is so sad. Someone whom I know knew this young man, and their world is broken. He did not deserve all that! If the fella didn't like gay men that's his business but he trap the young man just to kill him smh

  61. Girl you say police should check for signs of sexual assault. All dem rapes we have been having and they can't check for signs. 62. "We live in a Homophobic Island" Name me another country that is not Homophobic? I assume that you are in the US,right? You mean there is no homophobia in the US? A major political party is openly homophobic, you know that right? If a republican wins the white house next year you will see what will happen to the gay movement.Don't look down on St Lucia from up there and say we are homophobic. Get the f..k outta here.

  63. Why did this person choose to go to the alleged perp's apartment alone (or at all). He should have given this information to the police and allow them to do their work. On the flip side, I can understand why he must have done this - sometimes the police are so slow to act. Now this person might just try to skip the country by any available means.

    (0)(0)

  64. I go down stairs my apartment building and I let my people know if they don't see me come looking for me.... so it doesn't mean he knew something would happen... and stop.criticising the innocent boy everybody is different in their own way... there was no reason to kill him

  65. investigations has to be Done the police can't just jump to conclusions like you guys do so shut you'll ass and be patient let the police do their jobs

    (0)(0)

  68. I wonder if the person he was meeting with is a St. Lucian or a foreigner. I can't believe nonsense like this is happening in St. Lucia. REALLY!!!

    (0)(0)

  69. How do we know that this was related to homophobia and not a lover's spat, or a sexual escapade gone wrong, or robbery gone out of hand? That foolish label of homophobia is thrown around way to easily in an attempt to bully those who do not agree with the gay life style. We say live and let live but it seems to only apply to the side that we want to agree with. Gays let straight people live their lives and beliefs and straight let gays live their lives.

  70. Is the shit likevthis that get me upset a young child is dead and ppl more concerned about his sexual orientation. He didnt deserve this no one does Condolences to his family Rest In Peace

    (0)(0)

  71. And thats why if you're going to meet a complete stranger you met online you meet them in public areas where there are a lot of people.

    (0)(0)

  72. I knew this child personally a loving well mannered boy. His sexual orientation is no issue. He didn't deserve to be murdered in this way. Swift justice for Marvin. Police please act with urgency. Condolences to his parents especially his mom my heart goes out to her.

    (0)(0)

    • So did I. He was a very loving boy, warm with a childlike innocence. No one, especially him, should ever meet such a horrific end.

      (0)(0)

  73. How urall expect the police to arrest the suspect and question him when he on the run?? The suspect is hiding and i am sure that the police is looking for that suspect...give the polce a break... Young Lucian Boys pray and drift towards female please coolout on that gay folks movement

    (0)(0)

  74. the person who went to the guy apartment to question him about anthony, should not go there by his self, in that case, you should get 2 or 3 police men to go with you, so he wouldn't have run in the bush, but he can only ran but he cannot hide, he is the one who did that, or he set the boy up, MAY GOD GIVE HIS ENTIRE FAMILY STRENGH IN THAT SAD MOMENT

    (0)(0)

  75. That's sad. The person who went to the guts house Sud have gone with the police if he was a suspect.if he did go with the police that person wudnt be on the run now. I hope he gets caught and go to prison weh im sure will b paradise 4 him. Smart move young man but it's sad that u lost ur life. r.i.p.

    (0)(0)

  76. This is really sad. Sexual orientation isnt the issue. Someone 's death is. My condolences to the gay community. Becareful!!! Gays are under attack. We live in a homophobic island. Hope the police get to the bottom of this ASAP! Dont judge him.because he sins differently to you

    (0)(0)

    • This young man did not have to die. This young man had promise and his absence leaves a gap in many lives and families. But, how do we know that this was related to homophobia and not a lover's spat, or a sexual escapade gone wrong, or robbery gone out of hand? That foolish label of homophobia is thrown around way to easily in an attempt to bully those who do not agree with the gay life style. We say live and let live but it seems to only apply to the side that we want to agree with. Gays let straight people live their lives and beliefs and straight let gays live their lives.

      (0)(0)

    • if he wasn't gay he would be alive. God was ready for him to stop that dirty sin he was doing.

      (0)(0)

      • And if you were intelligent you would not make such a moronic statement...you are condoning murder which is far worse than being a homosexual.

        (0)(0)

    • are you serious was this guy really gay and is that why they killed him wah, so what that have to do with the killers thats not nice what they did if this is true. you have no right to take a mans life

      (0)(0)

    • First you say "sexual orientation isnt the issue" but then you hastily add to the rumour and speculation that he was murdered because he was gay. I don't know the person so I don't know whether he was gay or not (and I suspect that applies to you and most of the others commenting here) and it really doesn't matter. What I know is that a young man was brutally killed and his family and friends are now in pain. We need the police to move quickly to apprehend the killer(s) and bring them to justice.

      (0)(0)

    • Why the need to say "we are in a homophobic island" ...... he was probably killed by someone from your precious GAY community.

      (0)(0)

  77. SO NOW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HOMICIDE HISTORY WE HAVE A SOCIAL MEDIA OR FACEBOOK KILLER ON THE RUN?

    (0)(0)

  78. this is ridiculous the guy from face book is a suspect and should be arrested since he last saw anthony and if he never saw anthony what was the phone case doing in the apartment and why would he ran when questioned about the case by anthonys friend yall police need to really do yall job instead of saying things sketchy choops

    (0)(0)

  79. Good move, pay chew-ou. ...what's with the name calling...why would u call the police stupid...u talking about them arresting ppl but then they're stupid. ...ppl like u have no respect for the police...I'm assuming you're ghetto cuz u talk like that. .Folks like u give st lucia a bad name...I'm sure you're one of them criminals who get in trouble n expect these same officers to help...GOOD MOVE, go get something better to do with your time instead of criticizing the police.

    (0)(0)

  80. That non national can't know st Lucia that well if others was involve this is where they exit themselves so he is on his own stupid man

    (0)(0)

  81. details still sketchy with obvious evidence, its good that he told his bff tho. People really heartless. God is our only answer ppl

    (0)(0)

  82. what damn details that are sketchy dont yall damn police see the guy he meet on face book is a suspect and need to be arrested and questioned its obvious he was the last person to see anthony and further more why would he have anthony cell phone case in his room if he never saw him, and why would he run away to the bushes when questioned abt the case when asked by anthonys friend smh bloody retard police

    (0)(0)

  83. I don't think he actually knew something would happen, but since he was meeting a complete stranger he made sure to tell someone just in case, but most probably believing that nothing would happen. Poor thing.

    (0)(0)

  84. Why did he go alone, mi son if the you where suspicious, you should av had company on the look out, smh young and dumb. Rip.

    (0)(0)

  85. That's a risk a lot of people take when dating online. This guy is clearly a homosexual and probably met up with someone who wanted action but did not want to risk being exposed so he did what he deemed necessary. Hope the po
ice check for signs of sexual assault. With a picture of the guy, it should not be too difficult to find him. Sigh

    (0)(0)

  86. If they knew all this, then they should not have approached the individual alone. They should have contacted the police. Now all this becomes hearsay.

Is this youngster gay? I suspect he probably followed one of these adds on the internet "meet males in Castries." Therefore, he was supicious about the whole meeting even before going. People becareful of these lifestyles and the capabilities of technologies. Many misinformed parents give their children expensive mobiles with internet capabilities justify this by saying that they can reach them at anytime. While this is true, there is the converse, try to think of the billion other who can naow reach them. Technology is like a shield and a sword and it is amazing how fast the uninformed can find himself facing the sharp edge of the sword. We can see that manifested in the explosion of unauthorised lucian pornography on the internet.

  87. This child did not deserve this at all...Anthony was a loving boy...played with my daughter every day even made me a lil uncomfortable because sometimes we have to be careful when we have lil girls....when I moved to grade riviera right next to his house. I always wondered y he walked down the streets so late at night...after getting to know him he said to me my mom works at the hotel I don't like her walking up alone after work...he was still at SDA acted a lil younger that his age but was so sweet so kind....not a bit of attitude....I don't no if he was gay....but if he was that gave no body the right to kill him...he didn't force himself on any body...I know that for sure....I'm lost for words... I can't believe this...what is this place turning into...y would they do that to him....everyday after school Anthony would remove his uniform and then walk around the neighbourhood with a piece of stick in his hand most times no shoes....lord...who knows sometimes it was jus a phase in his life he probably wasn't even gay that child was so innocent god sigh

    (0)(0)

    • #tears #tears......i dont know when i"ll stop mourning and crying for this young man....#tears..........sighhhhhhhhh

      (0)(0)

    • innocent??really ...who am I to judge but most times those with the innocent look are soo evil, and they are engaged in stuff we would never imagine , and I don't think that has nun to do with him being gay, this sound like a drug deal went bad or some other thing to me

      (0)(0)

  88. I hope them foolish police act professional and do the job and arrest ppl invovle and jail them with no bail.

    (0)(0)

  89. That suspect was really stupid to keep personal belongings of the victim. Whatever motivate your'll to kill him, i hope it doesn't come back to haunt your'll in prison.

    (0)(0)

  90. Why did he go if he was suspicious that something terrible might happen? He probably could've saved his own life.

    (0)(0)

    • It is not necessarily that he was suspicious. I think he took precautions in the event something should happen(unfortunately his murder).Anthony was perhaps meeting the guy for the first time, and decided to provide his best friend with information, in the event something happened. I have done this before years ago during my single years, when I would meet someone new, or take a ride with a stranger. I would text vehicle number plate, names to my sister and any thing I think may help if something went wrong.
This obviously was a set up. This is why young people should be extremely careful in making contact with strangers via social media
