(PRESS RELEASE VIA SNO) – Youth In Arts (YIA) Theatre Company announces auditions for this year’s fourth annual November production “Masquerade Master”, written by Drenia Frederick and will be directed by Michelle Theobalds.
“Masquerade Master” is an enchanted musical story of Papa Djab and a band of Masquerade Puppet characters going on a quest in search of ‘life’; sacrificing immortally to experience the human condition. The play is allegorical in nature with fictitious characters that represent contemporary society. At sundown the puppets all come to life turning their shed into an emporium of mystical magic. The puppets discover the world outside the shed and are seduced by the prospects of wealth and possible happiness. King Soukouyan encourages idealistic visions of mortality thus, entangling them in a web of deception.
